Manchester United transfer news and rumours: Red Devils ‘preparing to up David De Gea’s release clause’

Real Madrid’s interest in David De Gea continues and is unlikely to ever go away until he is turning out at the Santiago Bernabeu.

And according to El Confidential (via Sport Witness), United are set to look to hand the keeper a new deal at Old Trafford to protect his value.

The Red Devils did similar in 2015, when his move to Los Blancos fell through. But the Spanish paper claims that contains a €50million release clause.

Now, they say United have told the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, that they wish to hand the keeper a new deal, and take that figure up to the €70million mark.

Griezmann on his future

Antoine Griezmann has insisted he has no reason to leave Atletico Madrid as he continues to be linked with a summer switch to Manchester United.

The French striker has already found the net on 20 occasions this season as he enjoys another prolific campaign in front of goal.

Atletico are just a point clear of fifth-placed Sevilla in La Liga as they bid to hang on to a Champions League spot But they are 4-2 up after the first leg of their last-16 tie in Europe’s premier competition, and Griezmann was quick to cool any speculation surrounding his future.

Marouane Fellaini wants Chelsea revenge

Marouane Fellaini says Manchester United are ready to take revenge on Chelsea on Monday.

United were hammered 4-0 at Stamford Bridge back in October, as Jose Mourinho endured a humiliating return to his former club

Since that drubbing, United have gone 17 games unbeaten in the Premier League, the defeat proving a turning point in their season.

Fellaini is confident Mourinho’s men can show their quality in Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final clash and ensure a different outcome against the Premier League leaders.

“They’re top of the league, they have confidence, they have great players, but we’ll show our quality there and see what happens,” said Fellaini.
